Is the paint used safe for children's skin?
I only use EEC & FDA approved paints which have been passed as being safe for the skin. I reserve the right not to paint some children. A few can be a bit nervous of having their faces touched (especially around the eye area), or are too wriggly to sit through a painting. However, I can offer them an arm picture instead. Many younger children prefer this as they can see their picture afterwards.
If your child does have sensitive skin then please ask me to carry out a skin test about 20 minutes before they are painted, just to be on the safe side. Unfortunately I am unable to paint anyone with broken skin, cuts or sores, eczema etc, or anyone who seems unwell. However, it may be possible to paint an area of unaffected skin.
I would appreciate it if snotty noses and dirty faces are cleaned prior to coming to me for painting.
How clean is the equipment you use, ie brushes and sponges?
I use a clean sponge for every child so that there is no danger of cross infection. The sponges are washed using non-bio washing powder following the end of the painting session. Dirty water is cleaned on a very regular basis. All brushes are cleaned between each child. They are then air dryed after the event so that no mould develops.
What happens in the event of an accident?
I have Public Liability Insurance in place. The certificate can be viewed on request. I also have an enhanced CRB check.
How much does it cost?
Private Parties/Events
I charge an hourly rate with a minimum 2 hours per booking. I can comfortably paint 15 full faces an hour, and this needs to be kept in mind when making a booking to ensure that all children can be accommodated. If more children are attending the party then I can offer quicker designs with less detail. I am willing to do "one hour only" parties for smaller groups, ie less than 12 children, but these need to be local to me, ie Barry area. Please contact me for further details - prices are surprisingly reasonable.
I can offer temporary glitter tattoos also. These need to be requested at the time of booking, and carry a supplement fee.
Corporate Clients
Charges are negotiable depending on the event, timings etc.
Fund Raising Events
Special rates are negotiable for charity fund raising events.
What about payment?
For private clients I ask for a deposit to secure the booking, then for the balance to be paid in cash on the day. Cheques will be accepted from businesses.
When should I book?
As soon as possible please. There are certain times of the year when I am very busy so you need to book as soon as you can to avoid disappointment. The booking will not be secure until I receive a deposit and completed booking form (this will be emailed/sent to you following your enquiry).
How can I book?
Just give me a ring on 07905 544323 (Joanne), or you can email me here.
